Thank you so much for your insight and additional confirmation for one of my theories. I think I'm going to have to delve into this interesting phenomenon some more.

If only I was still in grad school for psychology. This would have made a fabulous dissertation.

The pokemon players that I know arent into pokemon for an enthralling story. They're into pokemon for the multiplayer. I can see what you mean about people buying several copies of the same game, because before pokemon went online with Diamond/Pearl, I definitely picked up different versions of the same game.

Honestly, its a cult game with a large fanbase. I wouldn't say its the most amazing RPG experience I've ever had, because for sure I've had plenty that were MUCH better, but its a very marketable game. It sells very well. But sales don't always equal popularity. I can tell you now for sure you are going to see people cosplaying Square chars like Yuna and Roxas before you ever see Ash, or Gary.

Hi KJ, thanks for reading!

Well nothing has been officially announced yet, so no word if there will even be any changes. But if they really do release FF7 on the PSP, I think the response will be overwhelmingly positive. FF7 you can take anywhere? It's hard to find too many gripes with that.

First of all I would like to Introduce myself - my name is KJ and how are you? It is interesting that Sony chose this angle. How do you think the response will be to the upcoming changes?

I actually did download the demo to Valkyria Chronicles since it got such high reviews. I can see why so many people like it, but it just was not for me. I am horrible at aiming firearms, so I failed the tutorial over and over. Give me a giant sword over a rifle any day.

Seriously, they really dropped the ball on the ps3 in the RPG department. I suppose Sony was simply trying to match the plethora of shooters x360 had to offer by making some of their own. In doing so, though, they ended up alienating a large portion of their core fan base. Aside from the beautiful White Knight Chronicles, there really isnt' much to look forward to in 2009 with FFXIII not coming out untill 2010. Perhaps a port of Star Ocean 4 on the PS3 in late 2009, or a even a port of Tales of Vesperia - but I doubt it.

I will say one thing, though. Although my thirst for a truly epic JRPG has not been fully quenched, I recently played Valkyria Chronicles and it is way, way up there on my list of best RPG's. This is coming from someone who has been an avid RPG fan since Final Fantasy 1. The game brings two of my favorite RPG elements together, strategy and traditional style, to present a really new and refreshing experience. The battle system is just stunning. I have gone through the story 3 times already, and I'm still not tired of it. There is a lot - and I mean a lot- of story in this game, and it is presented in a very clean fashion. All in all it is the first RPG for the PS3 that has really pulled me in.

If you are like me(and I think you are), you will enjoy this game from beginning to end. Do yourself a favor and pick Valkyria Chronicles up, because trust me when I say that you don't want to miss out on this gem of a game. It will not dissapoint.
